Fun Fact: Cherimoya Is Considered An Ancient Food From The Incas In South America.

Cherimoya, scientifically known as Annona cherimola is native to Bolivia, Peru, Chile, Ecuador and Colombia. We source our Cherimoya mainly from Chile and the state of California as they grow best at higher altitudes.

Cherimoya also known as Custard Apple has an intoxicating combination of tropical flavors such as Bananas, Coconuts, Papaya, Mango and Pineapple when perfectly ripe. The flesh is fragrant, ivory colored and custard-like. The seeds are not edible.

Cherimoya has a very high content of Vitamin B6 and is an excellent source of Vitamin C which helps to boost the immune system. It also contains calcium which helps to strengthen the bones. Custard Apple season fluctuates between Winter, Spring and Summer. Refer to our SEASONAL GUIDE

Ripening Guide

Cherimoya is ripe when it is soft to the touch and an imprint is left when pressure is applied to it. The color of the skin may darken slightly. The most common way to consume is to break it open and consume the white flesh, not eating the seeds inside.

Once the fruit has arrived, in the case that there are any damages to the fruit or the fruit is inedible, please notify us within 24 hours via email with a picture of the damaged/inedible/spoiled fruit to info@fruitsnrootz.com. If we determine that you did in fact submit your photo within our allowable timeframe and your fruit is in fact compromised, you will either be refunded for the portion of your order that you are unable to enjoy, OR if more than half of your box is compromised, we will resend a fresh order. Due to the perishability of tropical fruit we are not able to refund after the 24 hour period.
